OK, I’m trying to lay off to digibeta in my PAL setup. This isn’t something I do often, as mostly it’s DVD these days.

I’ve changed things round a few times, and still get the ‘Incompatible compression settings’ dialogue every time. When I get this right, I’m gonna write it down, promise.

My setup: Intel FCP5.1 with Kona 3, DVW-A500P deck. Current sequence settings: 768×576 square pixels, Kona3. Field dom=upper. timebase=25. Compressor=AJA Kona2Vuy Codec (also tried uncompressed 8-bit422) Audio settings 48khz, 16bit stereo mix.

What setting have I got wrong?

    many thanks, Robbie

#18 Edit to Tape “Incompatible Compression Settings”

    Shane’s Stock Answer #18

To Edit to Tape you either need to have your sequence loaded in the VIEWER, or simply drag it from the BROWSER onto the Edit to Tape window and choose Assemble Edit or Insert Edit.

For both methods, the tape needs to be black and coded and have TC already on it. And you need to mark and IN point in the ETT window.
