#18 Edit to Tape “Incompatible Compression Settings”

    Shane’s Stock Answer #18

To Edit to Tape you either need to have your sequence loaded in the VIEWER, or simply drag it from the BROWSER onto the Edit to Tape window and choose Assemble Edit or Insert Edit.

For both methods, the tape needs to be black and coded and have TC already on it. And you need to mark and IN point in the ETT window.

I love you Shane… ok, maybe just like would be more appropriate. 😉
I tried so many compression settings that I almost went mad! and it seems that the way apple word their error messages need to be updated quite substantially.

    Thanks again,

ps. so you have a list somewhere of all your stock answers? is it private or can we have a look?

Well, most of theme can be found here:

    https://proapptips.com/tips/faqman/index.php

    and here:

    https://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=1063431&#1063431

Although those are a bit out-dated, as I add new ones all the time. I do have them in a Stickie File where I cut and paste them, and that is available for all who want it.

Thanks Shane that worked. You would think that Apple would add a help# in the Error Message so we could get more help. The headline error I used to get info in their site and guide came up zero.
Were still on M100 here making a slow trasition to FCP.
All the best with your editing life!
