    Reader’s Digest version.
Shoot was three camera shoot. Output to switch, best shot chosen by technical director. Output of switch recorded on Sony ssd recorder. That content saved to hard drive on Mac, exFAT format. My Windows machine could not see it. Had computer shop transfer it on Windows/Mac network. Footage showed as 15 frames a second and bizarre pixel dimension. Worked in VLC player. After much sturm und drang managed to get it on timeline using Brorsoft converter. Transcoded the switch output (H.264) to mpeg2. The problem is that the output of switch and contents of camera card will not coexist on same sequence/time. When transfer of file is attempted, there is a hand with circle and bar. You can make a new sequence but the output of switch will not venture to that timeline.
You can make a sequence with camera media card OR the output of the switch (transcoded to mpeg2) but they will not mix.

Have talked to editors and they do not have a clue. Please help before I do something stupid.

    Computer: Win7, 3.2 6 core; 32 RAM..
