In-person assistance for LTO install in Manhattan? (paid)
Hi Everyone,
I’m installing a tape drive on a Mac Pro Mid 2010 model. Here are the specs:
Drive: HP LTO-6 Ultrium 6250
SAS Card: Areca 1320-4i4x 8-port
Cartridges: Quantum LTO6 TapesIt’s been sitting half installed for months because I got way too busy to deal with it, and that’s not good because it’s supposed to be part of our backup process!
Anyway, anyone here in the NYC area that I can pay to come in for a few hours and get it running smoothly?

Hi Eric,
I’ll save you some time and money – you can’t use tape with the Areca or Highpoint SAS cards. You MUST use an ATTO card.
BTW – we urge you to use either HP or Fujifilm branded LTO media for best results and longest drive life.
