    Hello anyone reading this!

So I’m working on a video project and Sony is lagging quite a bit and that’s making it hard to work. (I’m using a combo of .avi and .wmv files)

Is there something I can use to improve it’s performance?

I don’t know if this would apply, but my friend plays a lot of computer games and he says he uses a graphic card or something. He said it was a Graphics processing unit (GPU)… Something like that. (I don’t know that much about computers so I hope that’s what he said lol) If I bought one of these would that work??

No, a GPU will not help because Vegas doesn’t use GPU’s for video processing. Vegas only uses your CPU so buying the fastest computer you can afford is about the best advice. You could also convert your files into a more “editor friendly” format. WMV is a highly compressed delivery format as is not great to edit. Also, depending on the codec used by your AVI files, they might not be optimal for editing either. You didn’t say where these files are coming from and if they are SD or HD. That will have an impact as well. You could always drop your preview mode down to “draft” to get a bit more speed.
