Impression of looking through binoculars
I’ts not hard to create a mask to give an impression of looking through binoculars, but I wanted to know if there was a preset already in Premiere Pro that gives this effect to a clip.
Also, does anyone know how to give the effect of looking at a viewfinder. You can see this many times on movies, where there are 4 ‘L’ shaped brackets on the 4 corners of the screen and a blinking red light, maybe with a blinking red word that says “recording” or “live”. Again, probably not hard to create, but is there a build in preset for this king of effect?

Sorry, no presets or templates to help just a couple of suggestions;
1. Both your ideas can be created in the titler or Photoshop.
2. The flashing red light is going to be a separate title with opacity keyframes…make about 10 on/off cycles and then just overlay additional copies (copy/paste) for the length needed.
3. Add the Timecode effect to a transparent video clip and overlay that over your LCD title for more realism.
4. Dont forget to export your titles and save them for future use. -

The CameraPOV plugin is for After effects, not premiere pro. This would make me have to do importing, rendering, exporting and importing again into Premiere Pro. Is there a similar plugin for premiere pro?

I actually made a simple one a while back. You can do a “save as” on the Gif below (720×480) and import it in Premiere, then apply the “Blue Screen Key” effect to it. It’s no award winning design but you get the idea 😉

For binoculars, you can use the circle effect, increase radius, add feather, change blending mode to stencil Alpha.

I actually forgot to include the interlace file, to add a bit of a more realistic look, that should be inserted between the viewfinder and the video.
