impossible to edit with XDCAM EX HD
Hi,
i try to find out how i can edit my XDCAM EX HD stuff with FCP X. Because every time i was stopped by dropframes. Even if i choose “better performance” at the playback preferences.
Why there a drop frames? I edit on a macbookpro duo core 2,66 with 8 GB RAM
the same editing is without any problems on my fcp 7! What is the problem?

Are you trying to edit the native files or have you converted them to Quicktime files? At this point in time, you can’t edit the native EX files in X. You need to rewrap them.

I use Sonys XDCAM Transfer-Tool to import the files from disk. So they are no longer nativ.
I tried another way and converted them into prores, but i have similar problems. -
do you have any other apps running? what kind of drive are you using to play the media?
