Howdy. I have been trying to import a multi-cam sequence from Premiere Pro CS6. I have been successful in bringing XMLs of regular sequences in. I think the problem is the multi-cam being a nested sequence and the XML doesn’t look inside the nested sequence to pull the filenames from the original clips. Does anyone know of a work around for this yet. I have been reading about using the scene detect however it seems to be really slow for importing a 80min long timeline.

Guys from Adobe have told me it’s just not something they support well yet. Even in their own workflow, when you send to Speedgrade it just bakes a DPX of the timeline.

But you don’t have to Scene Detect optically (manually). If you export an EDL of your timeline from Premiere, you can load that into your scene detect window and it will use the EDL cut points to slice up your export. Should be dead on accurate and instant. Works best if all your cuts are on 1 track, of course.
