  • Importing video from a DVD to vegas.

    Hi everyone:
We do some video capturing for our customers in our company. What I have always done is, use a DVD player and use the “capture” feature in Vegas to capture the footage. I will then go and make whichever changes the customer asked me to do.

I just found that on the “import” option, I can actually import the footage from the DVD without having to watch it real-time. This could save tremendous amount of time for us. I just captured a 1hr and 30min DVD in 10 minutes. My question is:
Is this the right way to do it, or should I stick to capturing real-time from a DVD player?
Is there a better method that would ensure I keep the best quality of the footage?

    thanks for your help.

    Rafael.

    best quality of the footage?
    …..NOOO

You have discovered the correct method…when you are done
importing, everything is laid out in order on the timeline
and in mpeg2 format, ready for editing.

use a DVD player and use the “capture” feature in Vegas
    to capture the footage
    …..That is torture(LOL).
