I recently upgraded to AF CS3 and I just noticed that video clips that have the audio track encoded with variable bit rate aren’t imported properly, I get no audio, no waveform, nothing but video. I had no problem before the upgrade but I don’t exclude that something got messed up on my system just in case I did a clean install of Windows XP sp2, the usual codecs (k-lite codec pack 3.4.5 full) and still unable to get the audio from these clips.

    Any idea?

    Thanks

I’m making an assumption here, but you shouldn’t import MP3s, MPEGs, MPEG-2s, DivX or anything else with interframe compression. Just import good old intraframe codecs such as uncompressed 8-bit, Animation, Photo-JPEG, still sequences and so on.

    Anybody else?

I know, unfortunately some of the clips I’m dealing with are homemade and compressed in awful formats, I can find a workaround and add few more steps to my work flow but I was wondering… I could import them with no problem before, no big changes to my system prior my moved to CS3, I have a backup so I’m gonna check if everything was working when I had AE7.
