  Importing Video – Camcorder to iMac

  Hello!
  I am on a rabbit trail that many others have seemed to have been on. I am trying to find a decently priced camcorder that is both Hi-def and Hard Drive that will be compatible with my iMac (bought new less than a year ago). I am using Adobe Premier, but I believe I also have iMovie though have never used it.

  I tried using an HD Sony Handicam on my mac and it was torture to get it to work and then I could only edit the footage while the camcorder was hooked up. Even then it drove me nuts.

  Does anyone have a good recommendation for this? Either a camcorder or a way around all the hassle? I think I could buy a converter on top of all then, but would like to avoid spending the extra money.
