Downloaded Media Composer 8 free trial. I’m having trouble importing video. I get an error message when opening the application.”No media can be written to any mounted drive. Please check write permissions”. And when I go to file import, import is grayed out. Working on a 2012 iMac no external drives. Thanks for any help.

Do you permissions to save to your internal drive?

You can always use an external drive.

If it doesnt see it, make a folder at top root named “Avid MediaFiles”.

Go into your SETTINGS, and in the MEDIA CREATION settings, first tab is DRIVE FILTERING. Make sure FILTER SYSTEM DRIVE is not selected…as well as LAUNCH drive.

Or get an external drive. Best to put media on the external.

Thanks, I know I should have my media on an external but I’m just messing around not doing any real editing. But again thanks I’ll check media creation setting.
