Having problems importing TXT file for batch capturing. TXT file contains name, media start, media end, reel, description, log note, and Master comment 1.

Originally created as a TXT file, I’ve opened it in Excel to arrange the columns exactly like what’s in the Browser. Getting the following error message: “File Error: 1 file(s) recognized, 0 access denied, 1 unknown.” Went thru each field and double checked strange characters and duplicate listing of timecode but still cannot import. Please help!

I even exported a blank browser column listing from FCP to use as a template then pasted the info from the Excel spreadsheet into the new one but still get the same error.

I should also add that I saved the Excel spreadsheet back to a tab delimited TXT file.

Did you import batch list 29.97, or how did you import the text file?

    yeah,
sounds like you;re importing as a file,

    not as a batch list.

try File > Import > Batchlist

That was it. I was right clicking on Import>File. It’s always the simple things!

You can still right click in an empty bin (double click the bin to open it and then right click in the emptiness), just make sure you select batch list.
