Importing to Avid 3.5
Posted by Ricardo Maria on August 22, 2014 at 4:56 pmHello,
I have a ton of footage shot on the 5D and 7D to import into Avid 3.5 (no AMA).
Does anyone has tips to improve the import proccess? It’s taking me hours.
Thank you.

August 22, 2014 at 5:28 pmHave them converted to DNxHD QT files on another, faster machine first. SO that you can “fast import” and simply convert the QT to MXF.
EditReady does this.

This creates Avid MXF media. No import necessary.

But still use a faster machine to do this work.

“(Due to licensing negotiations with Avid this product is currently not for sale.)”

It bought it before that licensing issue came up.
