    Hi all,

I’ve just been contacted by a client I’m editing for this weekend and they have commissioned a series of graphic wipes with the shows logo in to be used in the edit, but how do I import a series of TIFFs (with alpha channels) and make a transition out of them?

I have also asked for the wipe as a QT mov as a last resort to just overlay my cuts with.

    Thanks folks.

The only thing I’ve ever seen a TIFF used for is grayscale wipes. Google Pixelan’s SpiceRack series. Very cool stuff.

You don’t need the alpha, it doesn’t do anything.
Please follow up with us, like to know what this turns out to be.
It’s called a gradient wipe in FCP or Motion.

This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”

    Adi,

There is a plugin that uses tiffs or jpegs as transitions, I think it’s from Noise Industries, but I can’t remember the name of it. Will report back if my memory kicks in.

The greyscale maps David talks about were mostly used as softwipe or gradient transitions.

    Have a wonderful day.
