Importing tiff with alpha channel into existing document
I have an existing PSD document, and I’m trying to bring in a TIFF image that contains an alpha channel into it. When I drag the TIFF into that existing document or through the Place function, it doesn’t bring in the alpha.
The only workaround that I’ve found so far is to open the TIFF separately, apply the alpha channel as a layer mask, then copy the layer into the existing PSD document.
Is there a better way to do this?

Not that I know of. I do it the same way as you describe.
