    Importing Sony Handycam DCr-DVD 405 Footage

    Help!

    I have a client in tomorrow who is bringing footage in shot on a Sony Handycam DCR-DVD 405 and I’m trying to find out how I’ll go about digitising the footage, what’s the best method etc – has anyone tried this?

    I’ve never used on of these cameras but looking at the specs online they appear to have USB and S-Video out so; will I be copying files direct from the camera onto my hard drive and importing?

    I’m running and Avid Media Composer Ver 2.6.3 with a Mojo.

    Any advice much appreciated!

    You need to figure out what kind of files the camera outputs and whether Avid imports that. Otherwise you are limited to capturing from the S-Video out.
