January 24, 2011 at 6:49 pmSo I ran into a very simular problem to yours. I worked a project where I rented an EX3 and the other shooter had an EX3 also and we have 125gb of data files between the two of us.
I edit using an NLE that does not support the EX3 format; so I found two solutions.
1. Install Vegas Pro Trial and try to get them all converted, one at a time, withint the next 30 days!
or
Install HandBreak ( https://handbrake.fr ) and convert them in batch!
HB is a free download, and worked perfectly!—

January 26, 2011 at 5:22 pmSo I just finished ripping through 526 EX3 files using HandBreak.
I converted them all at full res to .m4v that my NLE’s can read, and then all of them to 1280×720 form my iPad.
It was pretty simple, and hands-free. The only issues I encountered was when HB could not write the log file for some reason, and all I had to do was hit OK a couple of time. All in all – it was really easy.

April 29, 2012 at 11:17 amHi Guys and girls.
I have footage shot on a Sony EX3, using a Nanoflash, captured at 50mbps; They are .MOVs with the xd5e codec.
I thought I could import this using the XDCAM HD 422 import setting in Adobe Premiere. This however doesn’t seem to to be working.
Any ideas of how I can import this footage.
Many thanks.
