And you can use alpha but not with a background object…you need something with geometry.
(Floor objects work too so its kinda strange.)/randy

May 27, 2008 at 6:19 amYea, this is a great tutorial. I actually bumped into this tutorial while back when I was trying to work on my way to get my alpha encoded mov to work a front of textured background. This mov file has graffiti write on effect created in Motion. I was also seeking the way to do same animation in C4D, yet I had no luck. I thought alpha can work in C4D-and that was my mistake. I am doing this animation for my demo and it is no rush at all. I am enjoying my learning experience! Plus It seems to me that having PFHoe Pro is great for this project, and it’s a nice add to my tool box. Thank you guys for giving me great tips and expanding my horizon;-)

May 29, 2008 at 12:10 amTry rendering the matte channel out as a black and white movie, and use that separate movie in the alpha channel.
