I’ve been importing quicktime files into my AVID adrenaline system and for some reason sometimes they come up as matte key’s instead of clips. It’s not consistant which is driving me crazy. In the options section of the import box, I selected Alpha “Invert Existing” and under File Field Order I use the lower field first ordering because it’s NTSC DV. And I’ve been importing at 15:1.
    Any ideas?

If the files don’t have an alpha just choose Ignore Existing for your import settings.

If there is no alpha but you choose an alpha option it will bring it in with an alpha (full screen, typically, since there’s no other alpha there), and that’s what is making them precomputes.

    Michael.
