importing quicktime file into FCP doesn”t work
Hi All,
I was given a dvd of a video that I need to pull the files from and edit into a different project.
So I copied the Video_TS folder from the DVD to my hard drive.
Then I converted the .VOB files to Mpeg4 using Handbrake. The new mpeg4 files open and work in Quicktime.
But when in FCP I ask it to import the mpeg4 files and it does not work. Why?
FCP says this when I try to import:
“File error: 1 file recognized, 0 access denied, 1 unknown”When I try to open it in FCP instead of importing it, FCP says:
“Final Cut Pro does not support this frame rate or the way it is represented.”But when in Handbrake I set the settings to 29.97 framerate with the Quicktime presets.
Does anyone know how I can fix this and/or know of another program like handbrake that I can download for free that will convert .VOB files to mpeg files that FCP will support?
Thanks for all the help!
Jon
