So here is the deal. I am helping out my brother who is also a wedding videographer, he had work piling up so I offered to help in the editing process. He sent me the footage and a .prproj file. When I import the .prproj file the clips are red and says “media offline” For the life of me I can’t figure out why as I’m still lkinda new to premier pro.
I thought perhaps importing the footage would correct the issue as it would in sony vegas but it didn’t.

How do I import the .prproj file and footage to work??? BTW i’m on a deadline for Thursday the latest so as much help is appreciated.

    Thanks!
    Paul

btw I also tried right clicking on the clip and choosing replace file… and it replaced the clips with the title card used and not the footage

Normally, if you open a Premiere Project and it can’t find the source clips, a requester will come up that ASKS where each clip is and gives you an opportunity to point to where they are so they link up. Strange that you’re not getting that option.

I the Project bin, have you tried to unlink/relink media on a clip by clip basis, rather than the “Replace” option? Right-click on clip to see these options

    Good luck

I think I figured it out. It does bring up a offline screen prior to opening the project and timeline… I selected the very first clip that was used in the project and then it worked and added all the footage the way they are supposed to be.
