Importing .png from photoshop
Using PPRO 13.1 and photoshop 19.1.5.
After my upgrade to PPRO 13.1 I have had trouble importing simple .png files made in photoshop. Nothing fancy, just lower thirds, merge visible and save as a .png. It has always worked in the past, now, I get invalid format warnings in PPRO. And it’s intermittent as well.
If I jump through more stages and make them into .tif files they work. But, would like to get back to the faster workflow.Has anyone had this issue?

This may not be it, but the first two things I check are colorspace (must be RGB 8-bit, not CMYK or anything else), and that the PNG’s were saved uncompressed.
System:
Dell Precision T7600 (x2)
Win 7 64-bit
32GB RAM
Adobe CC 2017.1 (as of 8/2017)
256GB SSD system drive
4 internal media drives RAID 5
Typically cutting short form from UHD MP4, HD MP4, and HD P2 MXF. -
Yes, 8 bit RGB
The options when saving include: PNG File Format Options, Large size (with an check box for interlace..which I DO NOT select). Medium size and Small size. No real compression choice per say…
For the moment the files are working. We’ll see if it raises it’s ugly head again later in the week.

I only saw this on Mac. None of the PCs showed this problem. My way around it was just to bring the graphics in as a layered .psd.
That being said, I haven’t seen this problem in a while. Somewhere along the way it just started working like it’s supposed to.
