Im having trouble importing my photoshop cs files in photoshop format, as a single layer into my final cut pro 4.0 timeline, the size is way off, its either to small or two big, and i have to readujst it in final cut, which isnt a big deal, but how do i import a photoshop cs file into final cut with the least amount of hassle?

Also, lets say i want to key out the background of the photoshop image would it be easier to do in photoshop or final cut, if its a solid background? What do you recommend?

Once my image is imported, I may want to animate the photoshop image, in final cut, (I dont have adobe after effects) so its primative, but it gets the job done, is there a setting in final cut that makes this rendering process easier on my computer, or perhaps another photoshop file format that would make it easier? When i have to re-render some movement i dont like it takes forever,

If you’ve got FCS 2, the Motion 3 the tutorial at the link below might help with your Photoshop files and subsequent animation. You may not want to have the same result at the end of the tutorial but the explanation about setup may be useful to you:

Look for the title “Motion – Animating Photoshop Layers in Z-Space (Movie)” in the New Releases section.

First off…. you might want to pick up my book and podcast… Photoshop for Video… you’ve got a lot of assumptions and misinformation.

You want the file the exact size of your format. i.e. use the Photoshop document presets for video… they have been there since PS7

To key… make an alpha channel.

If you are going to animate… then the photos needs to be bigger (you don’t want to scale over 100%). Also make sure your FCP settings have best for motion filtering.
