  Importing Photoshop files into After Effects looks poor quality

  Hello,

  I am trying to bring in my photoshop file into After Effects CS4. They are excellent quality images and the layers look awesome in photoshop. But as soon as I import them into the composition, they look awful. The quality has been lost completely. Does anyone know if I am missing an essential step here when importing photoshop files with layers?
