  • Importing Photoshop Files as Sequence not working?

    Hi,

Premiere Pro is currently fighting me as I attempt to import a Layered Photoshop File as a sequence.

    Here is what I try:
1.) Create a multi layered Photoshop file and save to HD.(With layers option ticked.)
2.) In Premiere Pro choose File…Import..and navigate to PSD file.
3.) File only gives me the choice of “Footage” not “Sequence”…(ie Footage just becomes one big merged file) and choosing the “Layer” option will only give me the background not the other layers. What I want is sequence…but it doesn’t play the game.

I reopen the same file in Photoshop again..and the Layers come back fine. It just won’t come through as individual layers in Premiere Pro.

Any clues or have I got a bug?

This sounds like there’s something wrong with the PSD. If you try another file (such as the samples in the Photoshop application folder), what happens?

Thanks for the idea Tim…I’ve tried importing the flower.psd from the samples file and have found that it also doesn’t work..ie I only get a footage option…

When I repeat exactly the same process on a laptop install of Premiere Pro..this works fine..sequence comes in ok…so I know that I’m using the right technique.

    Any ideas?
