Importing PDF to After Effects
HI!
I am trying to import a 40 page PDF into After Effects so I can manipulate each page separately. AE seems to only want to import the first page of the PDF. I can save the PDF as JPEG using Preview, but I have to select each page and save each page individually.
Is there a way I can:
1. Import my PDF straight into AE with each page as an individual file.
2. Batch save the PDF as JPEGs, so I don’t have to do it 40 times.
I have CS4, so I have Illustrator, Photoshop, Bridge and other programs, if one of those would work better for importing.
I am also having trouble when I import the PDF, it imports as vector art, with all the white space turned to alpha.
Any help is wonderful. Thank you.

After Effects only imports the first page of a PDF file.
But you can use the Document > Split command in Acrobat to split (a copy of) a document into individual pages. Then you can just import the folder full of individual-page PDF documents.

I routinely get PDF’s from clients and have several dozen at a time. TO get rid of the alpha I created an action in Photoshop – adding a layer filled with white below the image then merge down – which I then batch in Photoshop.
