I had a friend work on some audio for an edit I did. He exported an OMF file from Logic and gave it to me. I tried to import the OMF file back into my project but I got this error:

Import does not match the project rate. Project Rate: 24 File Rate: 48000.

I assume this means that the project rate is 24p (which it is) and the audio rate is 48000 (which it is). This shouldn’t effect the import of the audio file though, as one is FPS and the other is audio.

Anyone know how to fix this or how to properly import an OMF file into a project?

You are correct – it has nothing to do with your frame rate. I suspect your audio is set to 48k, and he delivered it to you sampled at 44k.

The easiest way is to ask your friend to give you a file sampled at 48k.

You can also go into the settings, select audio project, and change your sample rate to (I’m assuming here – you’ll have to find out what he sample rate he used) 44.1. Once the file is in, transcode it to 48k and change the project sample rate back to 48k.

I tried to change the audio rate but none worked.

Even if I change the audio rate to something other than 48k, it still tells me that the project edit rate is 24p and 48k.
