  • Importing null and camera data from Maya but I’m getting HUGE scales, why??

I’ve been doing a few tests with getting camera data into AE7 from Maya.

However each time I bring a maya file into AE its scale seems to be huge?? For example I have to massively scale down an object that I’m pinning to a null locator from Maya? I’m having to set the scale to something like 0.1 just to get it into the screen??

Is there something I’m doing wrong here? Afaik I’ve got my units set to defualt values in maya so whats causing this?

    Any help greatly appreciated.

The units are just that different. We’ve talked about this a few times in past threads so search the archives to see more info. I think that if you change the Maya units before saving the .ma to one of the other units, it matches up or is at least a lot closer to AEs.

the problem is that maya works with the grid values. afterfx interprets this data as pixels, this means when your camera is moving from -3 to +3 it
