    Hey,

I’ve built a sequence in Premier CS3 using mostly MXF files shot on our Sony XD HD Camera.

I haven’t found a way to work with these MXF files in AE CS3 yet. So if i want to import this premier project/sequence into AE, do I really have to export each clip individually to a different format, and rebuild my sequence before I can work with it in AE??? Does anybody know a better/faster way to work around this AE limitation?

    Thanks,

    -D

with the latest update to after effects cs3 (8.0.2) you should get native import of mxf… i don’t exactly know how that jives with premiere or dynamic link, but you should at least be able to import an mxf media file into ae…

I think that update only works with P2 MXF files. I am working with Sony XD MXF files.

    I am running AE 8.0.2.27

So I guess I am SOL till the next update??

you may be right, it allows import of mxf wrapped files, but it may have been specific to just the the pc structure or the dvcprohd codec…

premiere doesn’t have any problems with it, though? i would gripe to adobe about it, it won’t help you now, but many people, including myself griped about p2/mxf files when cs3 was in beta… 2 updates later they did it…
