I am trying to use a feature in Pinnacle Liquid Blue called “XSend to After Effects” that will presumably send the current sequence to After Effects (I guess like Automatic Duck (??) as a comp of distinct source clips in the AE timeline).

The problem is that when it opens AE, I get an error message that says files cannot be imported because they are not a recognized file type.

We use 50mbit MXF format files in Liquid Blue. From what I understand, they are simply I-frame MPEG files. In fact if I export an MXF file and change the extension to MPG,After Effects can now open the file. However I would no longer have the comp of clips in order as through XSEND.

Does anyone have any ideas? Any way to make After Effects recognize MXF files?

    Much thanks . . .

    Hi David,

Check your Liquid Blue documentation or install CD. You may have to install a “Format” plug-in to make this work.

    Salut.
