    Hi again.

Got an MP4 sample clip to test with Near Video. The file extension is .AVI but the properties sez MP4. Funny, I thought MP4 was a in a QT wrapper! Hmmmmmm

Anyway I had to create a new properties file for the project as the Neat Video Demo only will do 640 X 480 Progressive. I followed the instructions and set field order to None.

Problem is I can’t drop it into the timeline. Won’t budge from the media pool. I’m using V7d and I had problems printing the timeline to tape with V7e. Do I need V7.0e for MP4? I hope not! E was trashy for me and my computer for some reason.

    Thanks
    Allen

MP4 can arrive in a number of different wrappers. Does QT open the MP4 for you? If so, you might change the file extension to .mov and allow Quicktime to decode it for you in Vegas.
it might be a unique player required for the mp4, who encoded it?

Actually that file came in a zip file with a test kit from Neat Video. It’s suppposed to be a file that goes with the demo version of their video noise remover.

No, QT won’t open it either. Maybe I’ll try to download it again. Meantime I also posted in NearVideo’s forum for help.

    Thanks Spot
