I am working in Fianl Cut Studio w FCP 5.1.4 and am fairly new to the software; however, have successfully completed a few projects involving importing Motion files into FCP.

What I am trying to do is add a text overlay on a video clip. I right click on the video clip and “send to” Motion (not embedded). I then complete my work in Motion, deselect the video, save, exit Motion then reenter FCP and try to import the Motion file. FCP gives me an error message saying that the file is unrecognizable…

My workaround is to copy the my work in Motion, then open a new file, paste, save then import the new file into FCP. Extra work that shouldnt have to be done.

    Any ideas?

Edit: I just noticed that the files were showing up in my Browser anyway…I guess as soon as I saved in Motion the files were saved in my FCP Browser?
