    Hi all,

I’m successfully tracking an object (A computer monitor with motion, scale, rotation, shear and perspective all required) and then copying the tracking data to paste onto a text layer made in Illustrator. I’m trying to comp the text onto the monitor.
When I paste the data however, the text just “disappears”, as though the opacity has been turned to 0%.

I’m flummoxed as to why this is happening. Am I missing something basic?

    Any help would brilliant.

Parent text layer to a Null, apply track data to Null, use the Position controls in the text layer to re-position. Most likely your text layer is outside the visible area of your comp.

Pre-comp your Illustrator file into a compostion that is the exact resolution and frame rate as the tracked shot. Apply your tracking/corner pin data to this layer.

I’m with John on this one cos if you’ve tracked perspectives then there is a good chance that you’ll want corner-pin tracking data. And when applying corner-pin tracking data, you do not want to apply it to a Null but rather to the insert-layer.
