I thought that AI was a text save. WHen I try to bring into C4d, its not seeing it or bringing it onto the window.

How do you import an AI into c4d

Attitude – It takes 43 muscles to
frown and 17 to smile, but only
    three for proper trigger squeeze!

zoom out a lot, Adobe uses the lower left corner of any image as the origin of an Illustrator file so if your path was near the top (or not particularly close to the lower left corner) it will be quite a long way away from C4D’s origin

Thank you. I will try that.

Awesome tutorial. I am a 2D graphics guy and worked in Illustrator, Corel, Freehand and almost all of the Adobe softwares and have had a huge problem grasping how to do this as quickly as you’ve shown. Thank you very much for posting this and letting me see how quickly it can be imported and converted for my simple 3D versions of logos I want to make.

I’m having huge problems over here trying to import an client logo file into C4D…I’ve followed several outlines and tutorials on how to import this 2d logo to be turned into a 3d logo but the logo does not show up when imported. What am I missing?

Is this an issue with the original file type? Any insight our suggestions are appreciated!

Cinema 4D newb with a background in editing and modest After Effects experience. Thanks!

It is a PSD file…but, this is the filename: Fleur EPS.psd

I’m so confused why it won’t open in C4D per tutorial instructions.

I tried to paste a screen shot of what happens to my logo that is different to the logo I see on the all the tutorials out there. Perhaps a setting that I am not adjusting correctly?

it looks like you have a spline imported ok but there should only need to be one Extrude – the spline should be a child of one Extrude and given that it looks like your spline is many splines in a group you would have to check Hierarchical in the Extrude’s Object tab.
