  • Importing Large AVCCAM files Crashing Final Cut 7 ?

I shot a 1 hour continuous clip,a 38 minute continuous clip and a few 5 minutes clips on my Panasonic HMC-40 and HMC-150 cameras. I am trying to import them as usual in the log and transfer window. I am able to get the 5 minutes to import correctly. The large files, (the 38 minute and the 1 hour, begin the import process, then after 15 seconds, stall and crash,(close, unexpected quit message) Final Cut 7. I have no clue why it imports the small files , but not the large files. I am able to import the large files with Imovie with no problem but Final Cut 7 will not. Anyone have any ideas as to why the large files will not import? I have 6 Gigs of memory and importing it to an internal 1.5 gig drive.( I have tried to import from the camera, and from a card reader, both crash the program.) I am using Final Cut 7 and Snow Leopard. I have tried to import on my 17″ macbook pro and my Mac pro 8 core . They both crash with these large files.
