    Hi,
I am trying to import JPEG’s from a 10Mp still camera into Vegas. They import OK, but when viewed exibit a “shimmering” effect, especially on highligh areas and strong patterns. I’v tried rendering, makes no difference. Also rendered to MPEG2 and burned to DVD, shimmer effect still there.

Any thoughts on what I am doing that I shouldn’t be, or what I should be doin dat I aint would be much appreciated.
    Regards
    Frank

I guess you see “interlace flickering”.
Try to slightly blur your images.

Frank, odds are that the images are WAY too large for most of your needs in Vegas.
Use an app like IrfanView (i’s free) to batch resize them down to no more than double your screen resolution (1440 x 960 for NTSC, for example).
This will still allow you to do some zooming in on them if necessary.
In addition to reducing your shimmer problems, it’ll also make Vegas run much easier.
