  • Importing into FCP 5 from P2 card.

Posted by Virge Castillo on March 7, 2006 at 5:57 pm

I am under the impression that one is able to import into FCP directly from the P2 cards with material recorded on the AGDVX200. I can see the footage on the camera but if I remove the card and insert it into my PowerBook G4, it is not seen by the laptop. Anyone have any insight into this?

    Thanks,

You need to be running Mac OS 10.5.3, FCP 5.0.4 and Quicktime 7.0.3…minimum. If you don’t have those versions then you won’t be able to do this.

    Pardon me, Mac OS 10.4.3.

Dang, we need an edit feature so we can correct our posts.

    Shane,

Thanks for the quick reply. I am running 10.4.4, FCP 5.0.4, and QT 7.0.4.

One thing that I hadn’t mentioned in my origina post, is that I don’t even see the card on my desktop.

i think I read somewhere that the card has to be in protect mode (flip the little switch on the P2 card).

Thank you guys for helping out. Once I downloaded the driver that Steve linked to, it worked like a charm.

    Thanks again,
