    Hello,

I require some desperate help !!!!

After using Sont Vegas 7 to do all my editing i have moved across to Avid Express Pro 5.6 as i was advised this is more industry standard.

But anyways anytime i try to import an mpeg or avi file into the project bins the monitor visual is all white. I have donwloaded codecs off the net and tried everything else for some reason everytime i import a file if it is not a MOV file it just doesnt show ??

Never had this problem with Sony vegas 7 , not sure why a program which is meant to be more proffesional and widely used than sony vegas is having such a silly problem adapting to other file types??

Can somebody please advise how i can see mpeg and avi files in AVID ? Do i need to change my settings or is there somewhere i can install a coec which might help me ?

Your help will be much appreciated

Can you post your system specs? Things like CPU, processor, video card, RAM, and Quicktime version are an important first step in troubleshooting your problem…

    Hey Alper,

You have to use a encoding program like Sorenson or Cleaner, to turn the MPEG into a QT. MPEG is a long GOP stream that is compressed an AVID is not a MPEG editor.
