Importing Images in Motion 5
Posted by Deva Sunya on September 3, 2012 at 1:25 amHi All…
I have a couple questions about importing images into Motion 5:
1- Is there any way to set the default length for an image when imported?
2- Is it possible to import a set of images so they are one after the other in the timeline instead of all layered on top of each other with their length the length of the project?

September 3, 2012 at 2:20 amAhhh… thanks, that works for the image length. I saw layer length and did not think of it for images… much appreciated.
As for #2, FCP X you drag a group of images to the timeline and they are all in a linear sequence with each as long as the default setting. It is very easy.

September 3, 2012 at 4:58 amIf the images are numbered sequentially, i.e, pict0001, pict002, etc., then you tell Motion to view them all as a single movie file by clicking the Show Image Sequences as Collapsed button at the bottom of the File Browser. You can then import this file like any other movie and it will play one image per frame.

There is not much control over the way they play… no transitions etc… I suppose if the images are actually the frames of a movie that makes sense… anyway, appreciate your reply…

Mark Spencer has an excellent tutorial here on Morphing:
