Importing image sequences problem

I’m using Sony Vegas pro 10.0 and I’ve a problem when importing JPG files into Sony Vegas.I’ve 9352 screenshots from a game I played 3 years ago, they are numbered after Maple0000.jpg to Maple9417.jpg so, there must be a gap somewhere as it’s numbered more than it says about how many images there is.
What I want to do is to place all these images in numbering order, from beginning to end. And have them showing at 1 frame while having video on 16 frames per seconds (if I count it right, it should be lower than 10 minutes to go through all the images), because this is going to YouTube after Sony Vegas.To the problem:
I go to File->Import->Media and if I select all my images first, in the “File name” box there will be empty. However, I have to change the “Files of type” to image sequences. When I do this all the file names will come up. And when I then click on the “Open” button, I am getting this error:
https://piclair.com/t7qhfIt says that the file wasn’t found and that I should check the file name and try again. But the file name is correct, those files that’s written there does exist.
Another error happends when I do quite abit different.
I go again to File->Import->Media, but this time I change the “Files of type” to Image sequences FIRST. And then I select all the images.
Now there will be empty in the “File name” box. And when I press the “Open” button I will get up this error

I have tried to import just 10 images and that worked, but I need all the images.Thanks in advance

To fix your numbering issue, I highly recommend IrfanView (it’s free) as batch renumbering is one of it’s many excellent tools.
https://www.irfanview.com/File – Import is correct but the rest of it is where you went wrong.
Browse to the folder with your images, click the first one in the sequence, click the Open still image sequence box, click Open and let Vegas do its thing.

Ahh, thank you! I’ve made the files so they are named 0001.jpg and forward to 9352.jpg
Though, the only problem I see now is that when I change the end range to 9352 or 9352.jpg it automatic only changes to 892
I seem not to be able to choose all the images.
I tried to press ok anyway and made 15 FPS on both my project and the image sequences that poped up after I’d press ok.
It seemed to work well.So I see only problem now is that I can’t choose all of my frames.
Now I went into the folder to check up the 0892.jpg file, and I see next to it I had some 0892.rar file, I deleted it now and tried again. But still same problem in sony vegas.

Don’t bother changing the end range.
Just click on the very first one in the sequence.
If they’re properly numbered, it will automatically pick up all of them.
If it doesn’t, then you know where your numbering problem is. -

I got it all fixed now. Problem was still that place, the .rar file had been named to a number, and when I had deleted it, a number 0893 was missing, So I duplicated the 0892 image and named it to 0893, so 2 frames there but doesn’t matter though 🙂Thanks alot! 🙂

Mike, this seems cool. Do you mean that Vegas will auto-import a group of .jpgs if you click on the first one? Can you elaborate a bit, please?

Stephen, all the images have to be sequentially numbered.
You an use this on things like a time lapse or animations.
The screenshot above was from a 300 frame animation.
After making sure things are properly set up (i.e. click the first image, click “Open still image sequence” and then click Open, you’ll get a screen that looks like this.
If you want to make changes to any parameter, now is the time to do it.
If don’t, click OK.
The click will be in your Project Media ready to be added to your timeline.
In my example , it was a file named “CTestLire.-0000.tga – CTestLire.-0299.tga” -
Thanks, this will save me time the next time I want to import a sequence of images!
Vegas has lots of cool features “hidden” – I should probably RFTM one of these days …

I have to confess that I hardly look at the manual either 🙂
I read the Readme file for any new release and subsequent updates to see what the major changes are but that’s about it.
I’ve learned more from the various Vegas forums than I ever have in the manuals.
