I have PP CS3. Is there a reason that it won’t let you imort Quicktime .mov files? Everytime I try to import a .mov file, I get a windows error, that states “do you want to report this error to Microsort, then shuts down the program. Any ideas?

What is the Format of the Video AND Audio tracks? Open the video file in QT Player and choose Window>Show Movie Properties.

I don’t have QT Pro, so that choice is not available to me. If I click on “Movie Inspector”, this is what I get:
    Sorenson Video 3, 880×660, Millions+, Mpeg Layer 3, Mono, 44.100Khz, PNG, 880×660, Millions+

    Confusing information!
2 video codecs??? And then Sorenson does not support an alpha channel (Millions+). PNG does support that though.

    Really odd resolution.
Premiere Pro often rejects Mpeg 3 audio.

If QT Player can play it, your best solution might be to buy QT Pro to convert the clip to, like QT Animation and Linear PCM audio(48,000hz)

It seems to import fine to Sony Vegas Pro. I am just wanting to put some mov files together, and have been wanting to learn PP, and can’t figure out why one NLE will accept them, and another one won’t.

Premiere Pro will not import other formats as well. I use Premiere Elements to edit or convert those. Either edit in Vegas or use Vegas to convert the format.
