    Happy New Year all.

I noticed while importing a dvd into vegas (via importing “dvd camcorder disc”) that it cuts the dvd up into several “chapters,” which in turn become separate files. The video should be a single smooth streaming video, but because it gets cut into different chapters/files, there is audio dropout between the cuts. How do I avoid this? Is there a way I can import the disc as a single file? Hope there’s a simple solution. Thanks,
    Ryan

Are you talking about a miniDVD disc or a regular (full size) DVD?

If it’s a miniDVD, Vegas recently (6.0c or d) added scene detection because users asked for it. I’m not sure if it can be turned off the way it can for a mini DV tape.

If it’s a regular DVD, by default they’re split into chunks of approx. 1 GB each and there’s nothing you can do about it.

DVD was originally designed as a delivery medium, not an editable one.
The audio dropouts are due to the way a DVD is encoded and, short of doing a quick audio crossfade at the edit point, there’s not too much you can do about it.
