  • Importing DVD into Vegas problem

I am trying to get videos imported into Vegas that I recorded using one of those DVD player/recorders. I recorded the video from my old 8mm camcorder and it looked great on tv. I can watch all the videos through Windows Media Player just fine as well.

I did the import in Vegas using import>dvd camcorder disc and it seemed to work like a charm. At the end of the import I got an error message saying that one or more of the files was unreadable or corrupted. I retried and got the same error. I was able to watch and hear the ones that imported without any problem. I tried this with another disc and got the same thing. Of course the clips I really want are the ones that seem to have the problems!
All these clips and both DVD’s were recorded the same way and there are no scratches or dirt on the discs.

I’m at a loss here as to what to do now. I looked into using another program but it doesn’t look like I can get the quality picture unless I pay money. *sigh* Any ideas? I’d rather not have to go re-record all those clips!

    Thanks

I’m not sure if I am on the right track here, but would the problem video segments happen to be the last ones added to the DVD?

    Hi
Well I was thinking that the problem segments were usually ones to the end but I know not all of them were. Some were in the middle. I figured I’d check out the discs today and see where exactly the clips were on the dvd and a strange thing happened. My computer now is playing the same three clips twice for each dvd. Very strange, I know they are not the same. I’m thinking I have issues with my computer. Ack!
Well thanks for trying to help anyway! Guess my xmas vids for the family will have to wait until next year! 🙁
