Importing DVD files into FCPX
Hi,
I have a wedding DVD I want to edit in FCPX. I have Toast Titanium Pro and used that to convert the VOB files. However, the clips have a horizontal ripple to them. It’s especially bad when there is movement in the shot. Not sure if I’m converting it correctly. I hope somebody has an idea of what is causing this problem.
Please share if you do, I would appreciate it. -

That’s what we dinosaurs call “fields” or “interlace”. From back in the stone age when we worked with something called “SD” and a medium called “TV”. It’s not “a problem” it’s “Video 101”.
But if you’re seeing them in FCP X then I’d say the clip is being interpreted incorrectly.

Thank you for the input. I re-ripped the DVD and selected “deinterlace” upon conversion and the vid looks much better! I appreciate the help!
