    Hi

I have importing problems from DV tapes into FCP 5.

I got those tapes from a client and when I import them the material looks blocky…(https://www.geocities.com/brids78/Bild_1.jpg)

Other tapes work fine. The problems are tape-related.

Can anyone think of a solution, maybe in the videosettings, a different project setup, anything?

    Thanks FLO

I would TRY fast forwarding all the way to the end of the tape and then rewinding to the beginning.

I am guessing the tape may have been loose when recorded and there may not be a fix.
    Sorry.

This is by no means a fix, it is a try and see.

Could be the tape…do you know what camera they used?

Is The tape SECAM, NTSC, PAL?

It doesn’t look like a format issue, but you never know.

Are you working in the same format?

Sometimes when you apply new settings to FCP Projects you must close and restart
the application to get it to work right.
