  • Importing Canon 7D footage at 60fps to achieve slow mo effect

Posted by Thomas Ramsey on December 16, 2010 at 9:39 pm

    Hi everyone,

I am having a problem with some 7D footage I shot. It was shot at 60fps and the native clip looks sped up. What I am trying to achieve when in Avid is take the 60fps footage and make it a nice smooth slow motion video.

Any advice on import settings, etc. that could help?

    Thanks!

    T.

Are you using AMA or regular imports? If the latter is the case, you may need to read up on the console command “IgnoreQTRate True”. It will import frame-by-frame, as long as the audio is stripped from the clip.

hmmmm…I don’t know of any cams that record at 60 fps progressive. So, assuming you recorded at 60fps Interlaced, what frame rate are you using to import into AMC?
