I have read everything on this site and on the internet. When I open up L&T I should be able to drag and drop or select the .mts files to import…THEY ARE ALL GREYED OUT and I get the following message, “”STREAM” contains unsupported media or has an invalid directory structure. Please choose a folder whose directory structure matches supported media”

This is an easy fix, someone please help. Thanks

Have you tried importing directly off the SD card? I am having similar problems when I copy my files over, no matter what I do. But I can L&T off my SD card just fine.

I have tried to import directly off the SD card as well as by plugging the camera into the computer; I can see that the files exist, FCP simply won’t let me import them to convert to ProRes

    Current config:
    Dell XPS 730 H2C
    Quad Core Duo QX9650
    Dual ATI 3870X2 Graphics Cards
    6 GB RAM
Dual 1 TB Harddrives (RAID O)
    Windows 7 Home Premium

I used to be able too import video from sd card using log and transfer. Now for some reason it has stopped working. I now get an ! mark next to the file and nothing happens.

Had this problem some time ago and found answer but can’t remember what to do.

    Help.

Ok. I solved my problem on this (got the answer elsewhere and am sharing it). My particular problem was that FCP only needed to be pointed to the top level directory on my external hard disk. I apparently was digging down into it and trying to capture the clips directly, which I believe is how I was doing it with Sony Video Vegas. Anyway, once I simply pointed it to *private* it took everything. Not well documented, if at all.

John, not sure why your l&T stopped working. Have you tried this with a reformatted card from your camera? See if it’s card specific?

I am having the same issue. I have a question. Apparently AVCHD cameras save video as MTS files. Do I understand that to solve this issue I need to (somehow) import the files off the card while it is not in the camera? I am really new to this format thing. Please let me know anything you have learned.
