*Disclaimer* I am about 2 days new with Premiere Pro 1.5 so I apologize if this is a stupid question.

How do I import a mp3 audio file from a CD into Premiere? Everytime I attempt this, it tell me it is in the wrong format. When I look it the manual it says that I must convert the file. Convert to what and how do I do this?

Secondly, if I just put in a regular music CD, it will show up as a iTunes file therefore won’t allow me to import it. I should note I do have iTunes on my computer so this isn’t a random thing popping up.

    Can anyone help me here?

Thanks so much in advance for any help,

    David

First off, don’t import mp3 files into Premiere Pro. mp3s are compressed files. You want to bring in the audio raw, or .wav file. You can import the music using itunes. just open up itunes and go into the preferences section. you can tell itunes how to import the audio files (mp3, aiff, wav, etc…) choose .wav and then tell itunes where you want to save the music. After you have done this, import the audio and bring it into premiere pro. does this make sense?

Thanks so much for the help! However, I have now done this, but when I put in an audio CD, I still get the “File Import Failure” window.

Inside the window it will say “File Format Not Supported” Any more ideas as to what I can do?

    Please help!

    Thanks,

    David

which program is giving you the error message? Is it Premiere or itunes?

Are you importing the music completely through itunes before trying to bring it into premiere?
