I was working on a project where I decided that the audio(music) would be ideal if I used something I had used on another DVD that I had already burned. Since I forgot that I could just import a vob into the timeline un group it then delete the unwanted video I took another route.

I imported the video into VideReDo & asked it to output it to just as a AC3 file. Vegas would not accept the AC3 files.

I then created an mpeg2 file with audio which I was able to import as AC3 into Vegas. Why could I not just import AC3 into Vegas?

    Thanks in advance

AC3 cannot be directly imported into Vegas. It can however
create AC3. It can however be directly imported into DVD Architect.

AC3 is a very uncommon source for editing, so why make every Vegas buyer pay for the licensing to include the AC3 decoder?
